Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work like it used to. I've worked at multiple pet stores over the past five years and NM amazed me when I discovered it. I raved about it to customers and swore by it. Customers came back in to thank me for the recommendation and said it was a lifesaver for their carpets and sanity with stubborn urine stains and odors. I don't use it as much now because most of my house is hardwood but a few days ago, my older dog had an accident on our large area rug while she was asleep and it smelled incredibly strong. I immediately busted out the natures miracle and my heavy duty carpet cleaner and got to work for two hours cleaning the whole rug. The next day, it smelled ten times worse and it hits you as soon as you walk in the door. I went out and bought another bottle because I used the last of the older bottle I had. (Everyone is right, the new fragrance is awful). Still no luck and now my house also smells like a cheap motel with a hint of urine. I'm losing my mind trying to get this odor out and I'm so disappointed. If it's not broken, it doesn't need fixing. I'd love to get the $30 back that I wasted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Get rid of the fragrance! I just bought a gallon bottle of urine destroyer as my dog tends to prefer "indoor plumbing". I poured some on an area rug and am greatly distressed that the scent is permeating my house. This artificial fragrance is very unpleasant and is giving me a head ache. I am sorry I bought this expensive product and should have stuck to the original basic Nature's Miracle. I will not buy or use Urine Destroyer again and am now stuck with a $40 gallon of useless stuff.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works for me I have a small apartment and an aging dog who doesn't make it out in time. I purchased the gallon jug a used a yard weed and pest sprayer and sprayed all the carpet and base of furniture till it was very damp. I brushed the fibers and let it dry overnight. I prefer the original vs the urine destroyer for the sent. But in times of desperation the urine destroyer did the job well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Super disappointed! Our dog was recently pregnant and towards the end had a few accidents in the house. Since we rent we wanted to take care of the carpets right away. We used natures miracle like directed on the bottle gave it about 2 weeks and the smell was still there so we did what was suggested for tough odors and pulled back the carpet and thourally soaked the padding underneath waited an hours and blotted as much moisture as possible and gave it another 2 weeks with fans in the room. Still had a strong odor so we took out the padding in that section of the carpet all together, soaked the sub floor and re cleaned the carpet and I still smell it. It's in one area of a room, we've done the sniff test on literally every inch of carpet in that room and the carpet still smells and only in that one area. I spent a lot of money on 3 of the gallon jugs .I was really hoping this was going to be the solution for the carpet before we move out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn't completely get rid of smell We purchased this product to get rid of the urine odor in our carpet. Used twice and didn't completely get rid of the smell. Seemed to until it dried. We also added peroxide and baking soda with lavender hoping that would assist but still can smell the urine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Made the smell 10x worse.. :( I had heard great things about this so when I was at the petstore and my mother suggested buying it for our house as well as my apartment, I jumped at the idea. We bought 4 bottles in total - two of the urine destroyer, and two of the stain remover. Big mistake. I tried a bit of it and it wasn't so bad. My dog doesn't really have accidents but sometimes does use a pad, and someones a bit of it would get onto the floor. I always would soak and wash them away but knew that it didn't get 100% out. The urine smell was never unbearable but sometimes on wet and warm days it would surface. I followed the suggestions and soaked all the areas with the product. There was a strong smell (the product smell) but at the time it was fine. However, I started to notice the urine smell get stronger and stronger.. I looked online as I was worried and saw that a lot of people said it takes time and gets worse before it gets better. Well, it's been awhile now and it's not getting better. The room smells so strongly I can't even stay in there most of the time! It makes me sick! Even with the window open, the odor is still so strong.I don't know if the formula was changed or something but I do NOT see what the hype is about. The smell is an awful mix of the product smell (that has yet to fade) and a strong smell of urine. I honestly don't know which is worse. Sad that I have the two bottles and the one at home was probably opened as well. So I'm out way too much money for a product that has made things WORSE. Now I'm scared the smell is so bad that when I move out of my apartment, I'm going to have to replace the carpets.

The odor of the applied product is very strong. How long does it take for it to go away? Is there anything that will neutralize it? Thanks!

Asked by: TeWe
Hi, TeWe! We are sorry the scent is so strong. It should fade over time. You can sprinkle baking soda over the treated areas after they've dried, wait 30 minutes, then remove the baking soda. You may need to do this multiple times.

Can I spray on carpets, leave on, then use my steam cleaner w hot water to clean carpets?

Asked by: Dayna84
Hi Dayna! You can absolutely apply this, give it time to dry, then go over the area with your cleaner. However we would avoid using hot water until your certain the stain or odor has been eliminated. Heat can set the stain or odor making it more difficult to remove.

The product I bought Natures Miracle stain and odor remover specifies use on carpets, floors, furniture, clothing and more..... does this include hard wood floors?

Asked by: Dayna84
Hi Dayna! For hard wood floors we recommend the Hard Floor Cleaner. The Urine Destroyer may work. To be certain, test a small area first to ensure it doesn't harm the floors seal or finish.

Can it be used in hard wood floors?

Asked by: Dayna84
Hi Dayna84, No, we actually have a product specifically for all hard floors. http://www.natures-miracle.com/products/Stain-and-Odor/Hard-Floor-Cleaner.aspx. Of course, test a small area first, for color fastness. Saturate the area, and let it completely air dry. It is going to smell much worse initially, but once it completely dries, the odor will be gone, and you can clean like normal. Keep the pet away from the area until it dries. Drying can take several hours to a few days, depending on the room's humidity, etc. BREX

Does it get old and set in stains out

Asked by: dkbrnrd
Thanks for asking! Yes, this product works well on stubborn urine stains. Especially those that may have a sticky residue. We recommend applying it to the affected area, waiting 15 minutes, then scrubbing with a soft bristle brush.

Is the previous scent of Urine Destroyer still available? I just bought a new gigantic jug and the new fragrance is overwhelming. Not in a good way. I love urine destroyer but I have to return this. I didn't see any indication it had changed on the label.

Asked by: Danirs
Hi Danirs. We're sorry to hear you do not like the scent of our most recent formula. The green banner at the top of the container indicates a change was made. However, due to similar feedback about the scent we are working on a new formula, closer to the previous version, that should be available later this year. We have a variety of other products with scents you may prefer. We'd love to discuss your options at 1-800-645-5154. Thank you for asking!

Does this work well on a large area? My dog has a spot he continues to soil with urine and mopping doesn't seem to help. The area is about ten feet. How should I proceed?

Asked by: Dogs mom
Thanks for asking, dogs mom. For treating a large area on hard surfaces we recommend using about 2 ounces per square foot. Mop up as much of the excess urine as possible. Then spray the Nature's Miracle directly on the area or use the mop to apply it at full strength. Wait at least 10 minutes then wipe dry. Be sure to test this on a small area first.

People and pets should not be allowed on treated areas until product has dried.

Before using, test surfaces to be treated for color fastness by applying to a hidden area. Wait 1 hour, then wipe with cloth. If color is removed from the test area, do not use Nature's Miracle® Urine Destroyer on those surfaces. Do not use on untreated hardwood, leather, suede, silk or wool specialty fabrics. Always use this product full strength. Do not dilute. Always use Nature's Miracle Urine Destroyer products first. Other cleaners and detergents may fail and chemically "set" stains that will be impossible to remove.

  1. Wipe up as much of the stain as possible, then thoroughly soak stain with this product.
  2. Allow to work for 10 minutes, then blot up stain with a clean cloth.
  3. Allow area to dry for 24 hours.
  4. For severe, old or stubborn stains an carpeting or fabrics (feces or vomit/hairball), follow steps 1-2 above and follow with gently scrubbing the stain with a soft bristle brush for 1 minute, then allow to dry for 24 hours.
  1. Wipe up excess odor-causing material, then thoroughly soak area with this product. Saturation is important so that this product can penetrate deeply to the odor source. In carpeting, this may mean lifting carpet and applying directly to the pad and floor.
  2. Do not wipe up excess.
  3. Leave treated area wet and let it air dry. Odor will fade as this product dries. Complete odor elimination only happens when all odor sources are reached.
  4. For severe, old or stubborn odors on carpeting or fabrics, saturate a towel with water and lay over the treated area, letting sit for 1 to 2 hours. This will allow the bacterial enzymatic activity to break down and consume more of the odor.
  • Always test surfaces to be treated for color fastness by applying to a hidden area and wiping with a cloth. If color is removed from the test area, do not use Nature’s Miracle Urine Destroyer on this surface.
  • Always use Nature’s Miracle Urine Destroyer at full strength for best results.
  • Use Nature’s Miracle Urine Destroyer before any other product as cleansers and detergents may chemically “set” the stain.
  • Nature’s Miracle Urine Destroyer is not recommended for use on silks, leather, or suede.
