Blood Stain Removal
By Nature's Miracle Comment(s): 2  |  Overall Rating:
Bloodstains can be some of the most stubborn to remove from fabrics, carpeting, and furniture. For the same reason that your blood clots when exposed to the air (as in a cut), it also chemically binds to fibers, causing stubborn stains. Although there are a variety of home remedies available for this problem, the most reliable solution is to use an enzyme-based stain remover such as Nature's Miracle. Nature's Miracle was originally developed for stains caused by pets, such as urine or fecal matter, but its enzymatic action works equally well on any organic stain. This includes blood. The enzymes in Nature's Miracle accelerate the natural process of biodegradation, causing the blood to break down in a matter of minutes or hours, rather than months or years. Nature's Miracle is easy to use, and requires no preparation.

If you use Nature's Miracle, it is much better not to apply any other cleaning solution to the item beforehand. Many chemical cleaners will actually react with the blood in such a way to cause it to set, forming a permanent stain. As soon as possible after the stain is first noticed, apply a generous amount of Nature's Miracle to the area, allowing it to soak completely. Wait a few minutes, while the enzymes do their work and break down the chemical bonds binding the blood to the fabric. Then, gently sponge away the stain with a clean cloth. If any stain removes, reapply Nature's Miracle, but allow it to soak for an hour. This should lift off any remaining stain.

You can also use Nature's Miracle in your washing machine. Soak the item in full-strength Nature's Miracle, or add two cups of Nature's Miracle in place of regular detergent, and wash COLD. Do not place clothes in dryer after washing, as the heat may cause un-removed stains to set. Also, make sure to use Nature's Miracle before applying any other chemical solution, as these may also set stains. Never apply chlorine bleach, or any other chlorine product, to blood stains, as they will react and worsen the stain.

With the enzyme action of Nature's Miracle on your side, you should have no trouble getting even well-aged bloodstains out of just about any surface. Just remember to pre-test Nature's Miracle on an inconspicuous portion of any fabrics that you do not know to be colorfast. Armed with this knowledge, you should be clean and spotless from now on.
